Worthy Grands Knights,
I wish to thank, all those who were able to attend the Annual Congress held on September 25, 2021, at St Thomas a Becket. A special thank you to the host council, for their great help in make the congress a success. We had 10 out of 14 councils present, hopefully we will be able to be all there for the next event.
A summary of what was discussed and unanimously approved.
Br. John Casey did a presentation for A Catholic Organisation who helps Widows and Orphans called, Momentum. Since the Knights were started with the premise, it was felt we should be made aware of them. They requested a 1500.00$ donation. It was decided that each council and the region make a 100$ contribution. We ask that check be send in ASAP. Make your check payable to region 17.
Parkinson is this year charity of choice. 10 pins were given to each council to sell at 5$ each and the council would make an additional 50$ contribution bringing the total to 100$. We ask that check be send in ASAP. Make your check payable to region 17.
The annual contribution to support the region was reapproved with the amount raised to 125$ per council.
We ask that check be send by May 31, 2022. Make your check payable to region 17.
Also, the RSVP fund was reapproved amount stays at 30$ per council.
We ask that check be send by December31, 2021. Make your check payable to region 17.
You will be receiving your Campagne Tickets very shorty. Reminder to send in your monthly report even if there are no changes that month. Date to remember if the council feel that they can not sell all their tickets. They must return unsold tickets by February 1, 2022. Passed that date all tickets will be considered sold. All sold tickets to be returned by March 5, 2022.
Round Tables have been reinstituted, please fill in form 2629, at the every least each council should be listing the parish they serve and use as their meeting hall. Please do this ASAP.

The 1842 survey as to better gauge if the council’s programs are reflecting what the members interest are. In this way each council can reassess what they are doing and may help to revive interest and increase membership. This form was not on the USB key given, see attachment.
Each council was asked to create a Facebook page. To help increasing our visibility, thus keeping our members and our councils and the community aware of your actives. Which may lend to interest in our councils. Your Facebook page would be linked in the regional page.
Please provide the date, time of your meetings and location ie 1st, 2nd,3rd,4th date on the month. Also, the DD/MM/YEAR your council or your assembly was instituted.
It was requested, that all council choice a Sunday on which we can have an Annual Memorial Mass. That on the same date, 14 Mass would be held in the region. Some of the possible dates suggested March 29 Founding of our Order, August 13, 14, and 15. These later days may give you an opportunity to hold a weekend or week event. Which would fill one or two of your 1728 requirements. A date to be confirmed on November 26, 2021, regional meeting.
Finally, it was announced that a 250$ annual award would be given to the council. That sends in all or most of their reports for their activities. Please refer to the guide given, and all council are encouraged to distribute the guide to their members and share their ideas for activities that are not on the guide with the region.
When the minutes of the congress are available, they will be sent out. Thus, reminding you or informing you of all that was discussed.
